2012 starts with some old live bangers and tricks developed for past Philadelphia Laptop Battles.
An interruption of Windows error warnings and alerts tease audiences with the spectacle of a live set riddled with laptop failure only to twist back into song structures. “Keep Calm” keeps the tension and volume up while inciting all to get down via a myriad of samples from the likes of Fatman Scoop, EBN, The Killing, Fergie and The KLF.
“Her Heart” is an inspired remix of Double‘s 1986 international success, “The Captain Of Her Heart”, which ended up getting a nod of approval from Double’s Kurt Maloo himself.

The cover art was remixed as well, in a collaboration between Positive Void Communications (PVC) and Nice Looking Designs. Via PVC, references were added to Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty’s surviving partnership under the name K2 Plant Hire Ltd.
A mobile broadcasting unit that PVC is involved with on Gimpo’s M25 25 Hour Spin, dubbed “The Junior Insurgent Transmitter Ensemble” (by none other than Jimmy Cauty), appears via logo daubed on the trash can. The Cult Of The Yellow Sign makes an appearance, in the form of a Self-Declared Autonomous Peace Zone sign.
